Plan one main activity and one optional extra
A park day does not need a packed itinerary. Pick the thing your group most wants to do, then choose a nearby picnic or short walk as an optional extra. Before leaving, check restroom opening and bring what you need if food or drinking water is unavailable.
A playground icon confirms that an operator lists play equipment; it does not tell you the ages it suits, whether it is fenced or whether a particular piece is open. Ask about those details if they affect your choice.
City stops: Collett and Dobbs
Collett's city listing includes a playground, trail, shelters and a restroom. It is an option for combining a play stop with a walk and a picnic. Reserve a shelter through the city if having a dedicated gathering space is essential.
Dobbs offers a different combination: woodland, a pond, a playground and the nature center. Check the nature-center calendar for a program to pair with outdoor time. Building hours and program fees are separate from general park access, so confirm them before promising an indoor activity.

County options: choose the shelter and play area together
At Fowler, the county identifies play areas near shelters on opposite sides of the lake. Decide which side you want before meeting another family, and share the shelter name along with the park address.
Prairie Creek lists a large playground beside Maple Shelter. Hawthorn combines play areas with other stops such as the labyrinth. Neither listing confirms age ranges or every route's suitability for a stroller; contact the park if those are deciding factors.

Check Deming's construction notice first
Deming remains an important park to consider, but this guide flags construction affecting the playground and pool. Read the current notice on its park page and confirm with the city before making either attraction the reason for your trip.
Choose an alternative playground in advance if your group is counting on play equipment. The independent companion guide to Deming supplies more background, while the city is the source for current operations.

Make the meeting point unambiguous
Send the chosen shelter or facility name, a map link and a contact number to your group. Multiple entrances and repeated shelter names are easier to sort out before people arrive.
For a birthday, reunion or club gathering, check the operator's reservation and event requirements. A public shelter on a map may already be booked. The guide directs you to the relevant operator and does not reserve a space on your behalf.
