About this guide
A local guide. A wider invitation.
An independent project by Bell Tower Digital, made to help people discover outdoor places in Vigo County.
Who we are.
Bell Tower Digital publishes this visitor guide. We are not Vigo County Parks & Recreation, the City of Terre Haute or a tourism authority, and this guide is not affiliated with or endorsed by those organizations.
Our editorial approach.
Matthew Fouts leads website development for Bell Tower Digital. Guide research uses attributed operator information; a source review date is not a claim that we inspected a park in person. Current first-hand observations and photographs will be labeled with their contributor and visit date when available.
How information gets here.
Park information is checked against operator sources and reviewed dates are shown on individual pages. We write our own summaries and link to the original information. Official announcements supply the news feed; event listings are editorially checked and expire from upcoming views.
What the directory covers.
This guide covers outdoor places geographically within Vigo County, including parks managed by the City of Terre Haute, Vigo County, towns, Indiana DNR and local land conservancies. Each listing identifies its operator. The directory includes parks, small public green spaces, public golf facilities and nature areas; it is not a count of separate government-owned parks.
The directory is checked against operator inventories. Associated places such as Elliott Woods, the J.I. Case refuge and the Hawthorn labyrinth appear within their parent park and are searchable by name. We do not claim every informal open space or privately operated recreation facility is included. Send us a correction if a public destination is missing.
Reservations & current conditions.
Book directly with the operator. We do not take reservations, collect fees, confirm remaining spaces or provide a live field-status service.
Our companion guide.
Deming Park is a City of Terre Haute park. Our Deming Park guide offers a closer look at its visitor information.
