Choose a setting, then compare individual sites

Fowler offers lake-edge camping and a park with heritage attractions. Hawthorn combines a campground with a lake, labyrinth and wetland-viewing possibilities. Prairie Creek puts a woodland outing at Elliott Woods within reach of a camping stay.

Those differences can help you choose where to start, but the individual site matters just as much. Check the listing for electric and water service, vehicle length, backing or pull-through access, and walking distance to the facilities you plan to use. A modern site description is not a promise that every hookup is included.

Use published rates as a starting point

The county's 2026 camping page lists primitive camping at $20, electric at $22 and electric/water at $27. These are published category rates, not a quote for your chosen dates or a guarantee that every category is offered at each park. Cabins and the covered wagon have different rates.

Enter your dates and party details in the official booking service to see the site-specific total. Review additional fees and cancellation terms before payment. This guide does not hold sites, process reservations or receive live availability.

Confirm the season for your actual dates

The reviewed official sources do not fully agree: Fowler's park page describes camping ending October 15, while the county policy document gives November 2. The camping page also has weekday wording that does not match its 2026 heading. Do not resolve that uncertainty by assuming a date is available.

Ask the campground about your arrival and departure dates and confirm them in the reservation. This is especially important near the beginning and end of the season or around special events.

Prepare for arrival before you lose signal

Save the confirmation, site number, campground map and contact details. The county says Prairie Creek campers must use online check-in. For the other parks, follow the instructions supplied with your reservation and ask how to handle a late arrival.

Bring the equipment your selected site actually supports. Confirm pet arrangements and any firewood or campfire rules directly with the operator. If you need an accessible route to a shower or restroom, ask about that connection before choosing a site.

Book with the campground operator

Open the park page below for its official Campspot link. Keep the campground's contact handy if you need to change a reservation. An outbound booking link from this independent guide is a referral to the operator; it is not a booking confirmation.
