Fairbanks offers a different park setting from the wooded destinations east and south of the city. Use it as a riverfront stop in a downtown day, or choose it specifically for a scheduled performance or gathering. The park is home to the Chauncey Rose Memorial Plaza and Paul Dresser Home; check separately before expecting a building or event venue to be open.
For a longer walk, the city's master plan describes a soft-surface Wabash River Heritage Trail south from the park. This is not a verified all-weather or step-free route. River conditions and recent weather matter when choosing the day's route.
